TIRZ No. 23, in collaboration with City of Houston Council District I, is seeking to improve safety by making critical improvements along Telephone Road from the intersection with Lawndale to the intersection with Lockwood. The project connects to a similar project under development by the City of Houston that will similarly improve Telephone Road to IH-610 and potentially on to Reveille Street.
Reconstruction will occur entirely within the current right-of-way and is intended to improve safety for all users of the corridor including pedestrians, cyclists and vehicular traffic as well as maintain clear movement for emergency vehicles.
Preliminary Engineering is complete and engineers are currently coordinating with the city on a detailed design for the roadway. Stay tuned for more!
