Telephone Road Reconstruction Project

TIRZ No. 23, in collaboration with City of Houston Council District I, is seeking to improve safety by making critical improvements along Telephone Road from the intersection with Lawndale to the intersection with Lockwood. The project connects to a similar project under development by the City of Houston that will similarly improve Telephone Road to IH-610 and potentially on to Reveille Street.

Reconstruction will occur entirely within the current right-of-way and is intended to improve safety for all users of the corridor, improve stormwater management, maintain clear movement for emergency vehicles and improve the overall appearance of the corridor.

Preliminary Engineering is complete and engineers have been coordinating with the city in preparation for detailed design for that works with the updated design philosophy and standards for the City of Houston. Additional information regarding the proposed roadway design as well as opportunities for additional community engagement are coming shortly!
