Mason Park "Heart of the Park" Improvements

Big changes are on their way to Mason Park! Design of phase I improvements is underway for the area of Mason Park defined as the "Heart of the Park" - the park area's social center. The Harrisburg Redevelopment Authority is taking the first step toward implementing the 2019 Mason Park Master Plan by proposing more than $4 million in open space improvements to bring the "Heart of the Park" to life, including a new play area, Houston's first "FitLot", and much more! But that's not all. Other partners are bringing additional exciting changes to the area. Interested in hearing more and being a part of the change?

After close collaboration with partner organizations and two highly successful community events, the consultant team is near completion of the Conceptual Design for the Heart of the Park area of Mason Park (estimated completion of early August 2025). Detailed design will follow before construction can begin on new improvements.
